Volunteer FAQs

Christmas Connection Volunteer FAQs

Do I have to volunteer for the full three-hour time block?

In order to best prepare for your time with us, we do ask that you plan to stay for the entire duration of the shift times. If you are unable to do so, please contact a Christmas Connection representative at 405-634-2006 before signing up and we will look for an opportunity to accommodate your time constraints prior to your arrival.

Can I complete court-mandated community service hours through volunteering at Christmas Connection?

Yes, individuals needing community service hours may sign up at the same link as general volunteers. Please bring any required paperwork for a Christmas Connection staff member to sign at the completion of your shift.

What should I wear when volunteering?

We suggest wearing casual, comfortable clothing and shoes during your shift. Volunteers can expect lots of walking and standing as they serve. A volunteer apron will be given to volunteers to wear when assisting shoppers. We encourage volunteers to dress festively during our Christmas shopping days between October and December if they wish to do so!

Is Christmas Connection able to accommodate volunteers with disabilities?

Yes! We can always find a way to use your skills and abilities to help serve our families. If you have any questions or ideas of how we can assist you as you volunteer, please give us a call or email us at volunteer@christmasconnection.org before your shift.

What will I do when I volunteer?

There are many opportunities to serve at Christmas Connection! Volunteers may personally assist our shoppers in greeting them, guiding them through the store to select items, and helping load their items in their cars. Volunteers also accept and sort in-kind donations from our community, as well as help restock items on our store floor. Upon arrival for your shift, you will be given a tour of our facilities and a short training on your volunteer duties.

Can large groups sign-up to volunteer together?

We love to accommodate larger groups such as business teams, families, church groups, etc. Most time slots on our website are allotted for 5-10 people per shift, depending on the time of year. If your group is larger than the number of slots available for a given day and time on our website, please call or email us and we will work with you to schedule.

How do I sign up to volunteer?
